Can Spare Tire Bike Rack be Used on a 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser with Spare Tire Backup Camera
Question:
Im looking at the Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Rack - Spare Tire Mount - Folding Dual Arms. I have a back up camera in my spare tire on my Toyota FJ Cruiser 2011. The wording, without spare tire mounted back up camera is confusing. Is this saying, will not work if you have a back up camera? Thank you for explaining and clarifying this to me!

The phrase "without spare tire mounted backup camera" means that if the 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser has a spare tire backup camera the rack will not fit. Models that do not have a camera mounted at the spare will not have a problem.
Since your FJ does have the spare tire mounted backup camera none of the spare tire bike racks will fit but there is another way to carry bikes at the back of the vehicle. You can install a trailer hitch such as # 75461 and use a hitch mounted bike rack.
The Thule Helium Pro 2 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting Item # TH9042PRO is a great option. It will extend out far enough to clear the spare tire. It has anti-sway cradles, it can tilt, and it has built-in anti-rattle. I have linked a video review of this bike rack for you.
