When looking for a 5th wheel hitch the best options will include some kind of cushioning or pivot in the head and will fully secure the king pin in the jaw(s) of the hitch to help reduce chucking and jarring. One of my favorite hitches to recommend is the 20K Reese Select Plus # RP30081 because it delivers on both counts.

The head has a 4-Way pivoting feature which allows for easy hookup. It also uses a single jaw system to make sure that there is even and secure 360-degree jaw-to-king-pin contact for a smooth ride.

These 5th wheel hitches will secure in the bed of your 2006 Ford F-250/F-350 via above bed base rails. I recommend installing the Quick-Install Custom Base Rail Kit # RP50082-58 over the Universal Base Rail Kit # RP30035 because it will install into pre-existing holes in your truck's frame.

If you do not already have a 7-Way installed in the bed of your truck then I also recommend installing the Bargman # 50-97-410 as it will allow for easier connecting and disconnecting of your Keystone Everest.
