Can Electric A-Frame Trailer Jack HT87247 be Powered from the 7-Way Connector
Question:
Can I wire the jack to its own dedicated seven pin connector? I would just plug it in to power the jack for hookup and unhooking the trailer from the truck. Then I would pull in the trailer seven pin for road operation. If I can use a dedicated plug would I still use the yellow accessory wire location on the plug, or could I use the black 12V battery wire location?

The Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack - Drop Leg - A-Frame - 23" Lift - 5,000 lbs # JET-5000 is meant to wire to a trailer mounted battery but you could get power from the 12 volt circuit on the 7-Way. The 12 volt circuit would just have to be rated high enough for the power draw of the electric jack.
And you will probably want to have the vehicle running so the alternator can help with the power demands. This jack draws 30 amps when under load. Most tow packages will have the 12 volt circuit at or higher than 30 amps so I do not see a problem there.
You could then wire it to the 12 volt circuit in Pollak Black Plastic, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector - Trailer End Item # PK12706. If looking at the back of this connector where the wires attach on the inside you will need the pin in the 1 o'clock position. The center pin can be either reverse lights or aux power but it is usually reverse lights.
We actually have an electric A-frame trailer jack that has a 7-Way connector on it already. It is Ultra-Fab jack # UF38-944037.
