Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2013 Acura MDX
Question:
Hi, I have a 2013 Acura MDX w/ Advance Package. I am planning to install Curt hitch Part # 13354. I have the below questions: 1. Is the Trailer Hitch compatible with Full Sized Spare Tire? 2. Which wiring harness do you suggest me to buy? 3. Do I need to buy any other parts including nuts and bolts to install? Thank you.

Expert Reply:
The Curt 2-inch Class III hitch # 13354 is compatible with the smaller "donut" size spare tire but not a full-size spare tire on your 2013 Acura MDX. Both this and the Draw-Tite hitch option # 75614 are incompatible with the full-size spare. All hitches we offer include the required mounting hardware and written instructions; no other parts are needed for installation. The linked instructions also detail the specific tools required for installation.
For a wiring harness you can use Curt # C56038 or Tekonsha # 118424. It may be necessary to see a local Acura dealer for a relay. The relay is needed to activate the tow package wiring circuit.
