Mounting Dimensions for the Dutton-Lainson Trailer Winch # DL14881
Question:
1. What are the winch base dimensions? 2. Would it mount on a Warn Hitch Adaptor about 6 wide and still use the crank? 3. Are there any accessories for this? Cover? Synthetic rope? Longer crank?

I went out to our warehouse and measured the mounting base for the Dutton-Lainson Trailer Winch, item # DL14881. The flat part of the base measures 8-3/8 inches long by 5 inches wide. The elongated bolt hole at one end of the winch is 1-7/8 inches long and the 4 elongated holes at the other end are 1 inch long. The two round holes are 3/8 inch diameter. The distance on center between the long elongated hole and the first set of shorter elongated holes is 4-1/8 inches. The distance between the long elongated hole and the second, farthest, set of shorter elongated holes is 5-7/8 inches. I have provided a photo with all of the dimensions added so you can see the exact mounting pattern.
This item can be mounted to any flat surface as long as room is left for full 360 degree rotation of the winch handle, which is 9-1/2 inches long.
At this time our manufacturer does not offer covers for the hand winches that we carry.
This winch is designed for use with wire cable. We recommend the Hand Winch Cable with Safety Hook, item # DL24104, for use with the Dutton-Lainson Trailer Winch, item # DL14881.
