Recommended Custom 5th Wheel Rail Kit and Wiring for 5th Wheel in 2005 Ford F-350 Crew Cab Long Bed
Question:
Hi I have a 2005 f350 crew cab long bed and recently purchased a Reese 20k sliding fifth wheel hitch from a friend. I believe the part number to be Ps30121. He had the universal bracket on his Chevrolet but I would prefer to get the custom bracket that requires no drilling in the frame. Question 1 is can I use the sliding hitch in my long bed truck? And question two is what mounting and bracket kit should I get if the sliding hitch will work. I understand I wont have clearance issues with the cab but just wanted to make sure I could use it for my application. And question 3 is what trailer 7 pin wiring harness will be the easiest to install on the truck. Thanks

For your 2005 Ford F-350 Crew Cab Long Bed, you don't need a sliding 5th wheel hitch as you stated, but it will work fine. For your custom 5th wheel brackets and rails, I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50082-58.
For the wiring, I recommend the Bargman 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Plug - 9' Long # 50-97-410. This will connect easily to your factory 7-way and give you a second connection in the bed of your truck for easy access.
I've attached a couple installation videos to assist.
