Question:

Im looking at a few different carriers and want verify what would work for my kayaks, I have a 13.5 ft that weighs 65 lbs and 10 ft that weighs 41. I think I narrowed it down to the following that could work: Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding - Side Loading Item # Y04073 Malone Stax Pro Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs - Post Style - Folding - Clamp On - 2 Kayaks Item # MPG115MD Inno Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding - Clamp On - 2 Kayaks Item # INA450 Yakima BigStack Roof Mounted 2 Kayak Carrier System Item # Y04041 Thanks

For your 2 kayaks, the J-style carrier will hold your kayaks a little better than the post style.

Out of the options you listed, the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding - Side Loading # Y04073 will give the best support to one kayak per carrier, but all options will give good support for 2 kayaks. The decision is if you can them to rest on the crossbars or on each other. The Inno model you referenced has been discontinued so I can't compare that option.

I have one more recommendation for you that will hold the kayaks a little better and won't have them rest on each other or the crossbars. It is the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier - Folding - Universal Mount # S512 with the Expansion Arm for Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier # RRS512X. This basically gives you two j-style carriers for better support without taking up the extra crossbar space and makes loading easy with its foldable design.
