Tow Bar Wiring Kit Recommendation for 1996 GEO Tracker with Separate Turn Signals from Stoplights
Question:
question to Hopkins: Itasca motorhome 7 pin w/ integrated common turn/brk function outputs CONNECT TO towed dinghy 1996 GEO Tracker w/ independent turn-brake light circuits. 5 wire dinghy vehicle w/ independent turn-brake circuits to 4 wire trailer integrated common turn/brk function, adaptive convertor readily available. Is there opposite option? Hopkins response: brake output on the 7 blade is only for brake controller and typically has nothing to do with the dinghy brakes. We offer a universal dinghy kit 55999 that will allow you to use the factory vehicle lights when being towed. In dinghy mode, your brake and turn will operate off the red brake lights only. www.etrailer.com also offers a “reverse” converter. etrailer question: part # and application of a reverse convertor?

For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.
This kit can be installed on vehicles like yours that have the stoplights and turn signals on the same circuit. You just wire the vehicle up like it has combined circuits like in the diagram I attached.
