7-Way and Brake Controller Recommendation for 2009 Honda Pilot

Question:

Hi, last year I bought a tekonsha 4 way kit #118491 for my honda pilot 2009, but I didnt look forward enought....now I need a 7way and a brake controller. Can I buy the bumber connector and cable only? Plus a controller with the factory plugin....as the fuses, relay and modulite are the same on 118491 and 118253. I would like to use the plug and play style. I looked at the 4way to 7way adaptor, but i dont like the idea of passing cable from rear to front by myself when there is allready a tow pakage on my Pilot. Thanks

I wish just the pieces of the # 118253 that you need were available to convert your 4-way to a 7-way, but we do not have access to those parts.

Only solution is to go with the # 118253 and a brake controller plus wiring.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well.

The correct install harness would then be the part # 3070-P for your 2009 Honda Pilot. The attached picture points out where to find the port on your vehicle.
