No Need To Splice Wires When Using the Replacement Wiring Harness For Nissan Vehicles # 118267
Question:
I was looking at part # 118267 for my 2014 Nissan Frontier and according to the reviews some people had go cut 2 wires because they were in the wrong position. Im just wondering if there was a solution because those reviews were from 3 years ago.

The Replacement Wiring Harness for Tow Ready Nissan Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118267 should work without issue on your 2014 Nissan Frontier. The issue you are referring to was that there were a select few vehicles from 2005 to 2012 that had the brake controller output wire and the 12V power wire swapped from the Nissan factory. That meant no power accept when the brake pedal was applied and constant trailer brakes with or without the pedal applied. Obviously this was an issue and the solution was simple...just cut the wires in the added harness and swap them so the functions ended up at the correct location. I've attached a photo that shows how the blue was connected to black and the black was connected to blue with butt connectors to solve the problem.
