Troubleshooting Adjustment and LED Lights on Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller
Question:
My green light looks like its on with trailer disconnected but when my trailer is connected the green light is much brighter. Also, I was trying to adjust my level again and when I press on the brakes my light doesnt start in green its red and I have trouble bringing the senser knob back to green. Think the controller is starting to go bad? This is with the power knob all the way clockwise. Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
With your Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # 39510, the green light when the trailer is disconnected is not an issue as there is an obviously brighter light when the trailer is connected. The dimmer light just shows power to the unit and is not an issue. The fact that it is sensing a trailer connection difference is showing it to work correctly. Regarding the red light, you may need to adjust your system as stated in the attached installation details. You may also need to check your trailer brakes for adjustments needed or brake magnet function. To adjust your brakes, you may need the Brake Adjustment Spoon for Drum Brakes # W80630.
I've attached an article and some videos to assist as well.
