Trailer Connector Adapter for a 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
Question:
Thanks in advance for your advice. I have a standard 4 pin trailer plug that I would like to plug into an adapter that fits the ford trailer plug-in, but have been unable to locate this item. I would prefer not to do surgery on the Thanks,

From what I have found the 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac either came with a 4-Way flat trailer connector or no trailer connector. So unless the trailer has a 4-Way round pin connector or the vehicle has another type of connector (if both are 4-Way flats) the two should be compatible.
If the vehicle has a 7-Way blade style, you can use a 7 to 4-Way adapter, # PK12716.
If the trailer does have a 4-Way round, I recommend just going ahead and removing it. Replacing it with a 4-Way flat would be much easier than changing the vehicle side connector. You could use something like # 18004.
