How To Wire Tekonsha Voyager 9030 Brake Controller Into 2007 Mitsubishi Canter With 24 Volt System
Question:
Can I install the Voyager 9030 in a vehicle that has a 24v electrical system? The truck is a 2007 Mitsubishi Canter export for Arab countries. Batteries are wired in series to provide 24vdc so can I wire the 9030 direct to one battery or will the unit handle 24vdc? Thanks in advance!

I contacted our representative at Tekonsha about installing the Voyager 9030 Brake Controller, part # 39510, on your 2007 Mitsubishi Canter with 24 volt system. There is actually a technical bulletin on how to install a brake controller on a 24 volt electrical system. You will need to go purchase a 24 volt relay from a local parts store in your area.
First, you will connect the White ground wire of the brake controller to the negative terminal of the first battery. Then you will connect the Black power wire between the positive battery terminal of the first battery and negative terminal of the vehicles second battery (see diagram). Then you will run the Blue wire of the brake controller to the trailer connector on the vehicle. The Red stoplight wire will connect to the load terminal of the 24 volt relay.
I am sending the technical bulletin, which includes a diagram on wiring a brake controller to a 24 volt system in a separate email.
