Can Fulton 542 Winch on Pontoon Boat Trailer be Replaced

Fulton brake winch to replace older Fulton 542 winch, can this be done.

Expert Reply:
You certainly can replace the winch you have with a different one such as # F143100. The only thing to look at is the mounting hole pattern. Winch # F143100 has 3 holes. The 2 across from each other are 2 inches apart on center. And the lower one between those 2 holes is 4 inches from the center line of the top to holes to the center of the elongated hole. I have included a picture showing this for you.
