Recommended Rear Suspension Enhancement Option for a 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

I have a 2017 Silverado 1500. I have a 1400 pound truck camper I just purchased. I just installed Torklift Stable loads and I am not happy with them. The truck sways quite a bit when turning corners and porpoises when I go over bumps. The truck ped in the rear about 1 1/2 inches with the camper loaded but it feels like a lot more. Do you have any other suggestions. I was looking at Timbrens or Roadmaster Active or Ride Rite Air bags. Thank you

The best option to fix vehicle sag and stability issues with a truck bed camper installed on your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 would indeed involve a set of airbags. For this I recommend using the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2430. The Ride-Rite airbags are specifically designed to maximize safe load-carrying capacity, increase stability and improve ride quality. The airbags are adjustable therefore you will be able to control the amount of support/stability you have. In addition to support/stability, these airbags will work great to bring the rear of your truck back to stock height.

The most cost efficient option to fix vehicle sag and increased stability on your truck would involve a set of upgraded bump stops like the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TGMRCK15S. The Timbren Springs will also do a great job of leveling the load and increasing the stability of your vehicle but the ride with these bump stops will be much rougher in comparison to the Ride-Rite airbags.

I have included a review and installation video of each option for you.
