Ceiling Rack/Hoist Recommendation for Storing 100 lb Canoe  

Question:

Hi, do you carry a light duty hand winch which ratchets both up and down? This one is similar to what Im looking for DL16003 but is a one way ratchet. I will be hoisting and lowering a canoe which weighs less than 100 lbs. Thanks,

Only worm gear winches should be used for hoisting thing like like a canoe as they are the only ones rated for that.

For a winch the Dutton-Lainson Worm Gear Hand Winch # DL10954 would work great as it has more than enough capacity. It also can be mounted to the ceiling.

Another solution you may like is the Thule MultiLift Cargo Lift part # TH572 which is designed for storing a canoe like what you have on the ceiling. It has a 220 lb capacity as well so it would have more than enough capacity. This would be your ideal option.
