Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 4 Bike Platform Rack on 2017 Mazda CX-5

Question:

Looking for a receiver hitch for my 2017 Mazda CX-5 that can handle a platform carrier with 4 bikes. I see a lot of useful information on your website but am unable to zero in on what I should buy. Dont want to compromise the function or aesthetics of my vehicle. Thanks in advance for your help.

For what you are looking for the best solution is the Draw Tite part # 76138. This is a Class III hitch which means it would have the needed capacity to carry a 4 bike platform rack. And since the cross tube isn't visible the only thing you'd see would be the hitch opening which makes it about as aesthetically pleasing as you can get. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well.

For a 4 bike platform rack check out the Saris Freedom Superclamp EX part # SA4026F. It only touches the bikes at the tires, is made in the USA, and is relatively light for this style of bike rack at 63 lbs. Most are around 100 lbs.
