Wiring to tow a Pair of Trailers With a 2009 Honda Pilot

Question:

I just got a 2009 Honda Pilot with a built in 2” receiver hitch tow cap at 4500 lbs. I’m looking to add wiring. I believe I’d need part 118253 with brackets PK12711U, PK11926. This would add a 7 blade connector. Do I have that correct? Would these be all the parts I need to add this harness? I tow a boat with brakes and 5-way flat connector, and also tow an 8x10 utility trailer with a 4-way flat connector. How do I go from the 118253 and 7way to the 5/4 ways ? I also have another question. When towing my 8x10 utility trailer there’s a lot of rattler between receiver and drawbar – not so much with the boat. Any type of anti-rattle pin, etc… that you could recommend to stop the rattling around when towing a utility trailer? Thanks much

The Honda Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring # 118253 will upgrade your 2009 Honda Pilot with tow package from a 4-way to a 7-way, and you'd need mounting bracket # PK12711U to mount the 7-way. This bracket now comes with the mounting hardware included so the other part you mentioned is not needed.

To go from a 7-way to your boat trailer with a 5-way and utility trailer with a 4-way you would want the handy 7-Pole to 4-Pole and 5-Pole Adapter # 37385, which will fulfill all of your wiring connector needs.

You will also need a product like part # PC3, part # e98880, or part # 63232 to secure the accessory in your 2" trailer hitch receiver.

I've added links to video reviews of each of these products for you to take a look at.
