Fit of Curt Class III Receiver Part # 13650 on 2005 Mazda Tribute with Full-Sized Spare Tire
Question:
Can the 13650 tow hitch be installed in a 2005 Mazda Tribute with a full sized spare tire? My spare tire mounts under the vehicle, is a full size, and extends out almost to the back edge of the bumper. Will this fit?

Expert Reply:
Any of the class III receivers offered for your 2005 Tribute, including the Curt model you reference, are compatible with a full-sized spare tire. The curved shape of the hitch fits around and below the spare tire, and will not interfere.
I have provided a link to an install video for you to check out. The video shows a hitch from a different manufacturer being installed, but the hitch is similar enough to the one you referenced to give you a good idea of the placement. At the end of the video, you can see how the hitch sits in relation to the rear bumper.
