Clearing a 2012 Toyota RAV4s Spare Tire with a Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 Bike Rack

Will the Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 rack clear the spare tire cover on a 2012 Toyota RAV4 in the up position?

In this case, the Thule T2 Pro XTR 2, part # TH83JV, will be extremely close. The T2 Pro has a distance of 5 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack when folded. I've included a video of our test fit so you can see this fit for yourself.

Before you purchase, I recommend ensuring a fit for the spare tire by taking a few measurements. You'll want to measure the distance from the center of your hitch pin's hole to the furthest edge of your spare tire. This will give you your minimum clearance distance. Any rack you purchase will need to have a distance from its hitch pin hole to closest part of the rack when folded that is higher than that number, plus an inch or so for some space. I've included a diagram to help illustrate how to take these measurements, and we provide this distance on most of our product pages.
