Choosing Correct Bearing Buddy to Replace 2 Inch Grease Cap on Trailer
Question:
Hey: I have a little 4x4 cargo trailer. Looking to upgrade to bearing buddies instead of the old grease cap set up. The current grease cap measures 2 inches from the inside lip. What size bearing buddy do I need? Thanks

We have a few Bearing Buddy Kits available that are close to the 2 inch measurement you mentioned in your question. I recommend measuring the diameter of your hub bore using a digital caliper like # PTW80157. This will give you an exact measurement, which will be needed when selecting the correct size Bearing Buddy for your trailer.
For example, the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors # BB1980A-SS are designed for 1.98 inch hub bores and # BB2047SS are for 2.047 inch hub bores. We also have # BB2080SS that will fit 2.080 inch hub bore diameters.
I have attached a link that will take you to our available selection of Bearing Buddies. You can use the links on the left side of the page to filter through the different hub bore diameters.
