Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Ram 2500 Short Bed Towing Keystone 284rdbwe

Question:

I have a 2017 Ram 2500 crew cab short box 6.5 vin. I will be pulling a 284rdbwe 1/2 ton series! Keystone video claims a slider or offset is not required! What would you recommend?

I checked out the Keystone 284rdbwe you have and it has a tapered nose designed to allow it to be towed with a short bed truck and not need a slider. For your 2017 Ram 2500 with a short bed that does not have the factory rail kit I would go with a stationary hitch since you don't need the slider and slider hitches are much heavier and have more moving parts which means more movement. So for a hitch the # RP30047 would be a great choice.

Then for a rail kit I'd recommend a custom fit kit as it will minimize drilling and install time when compared to a universal one. For the the part # RP56010-53.
