Question:

If my tire size is 225x 75 x15 load d 8 ply and I will replace it with load e will I have a problem with the old wheel wich is rated for load d . The inflation pressure also changes to 80psi from 65. How do I know that is wheel rated for this pressure?

Expert Reply:

There are three components that have PSI rating on trailer wheel setups. The tire, the valve stem, and the wheel. The wheel will have the highest capacity and is rarely an issue. In most cases the issue (if any) is the valve stem. The only time the wheel PSI rating comes into play is typically when the tire pressure needed is well over 100 psi.
