Compatible Dexter Lift Kit for Torflex Axles on a 1997 4Star Horse Trailer
Question:
I have a 1997 4Star Horse Trailer with Dexter Torflex axles. It has a GVWR of 12,000 lbs and a GAWR of 4880 lbs. I can not find a number on the axle to determine the exact axle model. Im assuming its a #11, but I dont really know for sure if that is correct. Can you tell which Dexter axle I have? Also in the notes for this product it says that this product is not compatible with 3inch tall brackets. How do I determine if I have 3inch brackets? In the products installation pictures they look the same as the brackets on my trailer but Im concerned that they are 3. Thank You

With the numbers that you provided, it looks like you have the Dexter # 11 Torflex axles. The Dexter Torflex Lift Kit, # K71-724-02, is compatible with the Dexter # 11 axles with 4,100-6000 lbs.
The lift kit will raise your trailers frame by 2-7/8 inches and will include all the frame spacers and hardware to install on a tandem axle set.
This kit is limited by the height of the mounting brackets that are attached to the axles. If the axle mounting brackets that attach to the trailer frame are taller than 3 inches, then the lift kit cannot be used on the trailer.
