Recommended Weight Distribution and Sway Control System for Towing a 2018 Jayco 28DSBH
Question:
I am looking to purchase a 2018 Jayco 28DSBH GVWR of 7,500 lbs and Hitch weight of 654 lbs. I have a 2013 Ford Expedition. I would like a weight distribution with dual cam sway control instead of friction to prevent sway. I was looking at the Reese RP66087 hitch...is that a good one or is there a better alternative?

The Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System # RP66087 you mentioned would be an excellent choice for your towing needs. The most important factor to keep in mind is the tongue weight of your trailer, which is the loaded and ready-to-tow tongue weight of the trailer plus the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. This Reese system has a tongue weight capacity of 800 lbs, so you shouldn't have any problems with a tongue weight of about 650 lbs. I've included an article about tongue weight for your convenience.
However, if you did want something a bit more heavy-duty on the chance that you end up towing a greater load, we also offer the similar model with a 1,200 lb tongue weight limit, # RP66084.
Both systems require a hitch ball, # A-90. Both include a shank with a maximum rise of 6-1/2” and a maximum drop of 1-1/4”. Once you know your rise/drop, you can determine if one of these shanks will work for you or if you'll need one with a more dramatic rise/drop. I've included an article on finding these measurements.
