Recommended Brake Controller And 7-Way Wiring For 1984 And 1985 Chevy C10 Trucks
Question:
I am looking into wiring a plug for both my 84 and 85 c10 trucks. The wiring is factory, never been cut up. Looking for a kit for these trucks. I will be pulling a 20foot tandem car hauler that does have e-brake with a 7 plug round wiring harness.

For both your 1984 and 1985 Chevy C10 trucks, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # 90195. If you will not be using the vehicles at the same time, you can use one controller and just add the second harness # 20127 and bracket # 2178.
You can then use the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7 on each vehicle to get your 7-way connection and wiring. This kit will come with all the wiring you need along with circuit breakers, connectors, and tester. You will need a 4-way flat like # 118311 for your 1984 truck to help this installation. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located beneath your vehicle, along the driver's-side frame rail. For your 1985, you will need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # HM41115. This harness will plug into factory wiring found in that same location.
