Recommended Replacement 14" x 14" Continuous Hinge Roof Vent Cover for 40 Year-Old Trailer

Question:

Hi! I found your qanda helping a gentleman match a replacement lid for a roof vent on an older camper. Ive got a 40 year-old truck camper with a roof vent that I need to fix. I had been thinking to replace the whole vent, but upon further inspection, the vent seems quite solid, the cover/lid lifter arm and mechanism is smooth and straight. Im thinking to just to the lid right now. It had an metal lid before. Trying to research it, I think it might similar if not the same as a a pre-1994 elixir. I found your article on this Camco Replacement Lid for Elixir RV Roof Vents # CAM40156 is a fit for pre-1994 Elixir. I attached a picture and hope it helps! The old hinge I slid out from up top and just placed it where it is for the photo. Can you tell me if I can get a new metal lid for this? If not metal, I like a low profile and dark if not opaque. I appreciate your help!

From the picture that you sent in it looks like your vent cover has a continuous hinge. If that is the case then you just need to confirm that it measures 14" x 14".

If it does meet those requirements then the Replacement Lid for Elixir RV Roof Vent # CAM40156 will fit!

You could also use the metal Replacement Dome Assembly for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # BV0534-00 or the Smoke Replacement Lid for Ventline and Elixir RV Roof Vents # CAM40148 as well depending on what you are wanting to add to your trailer.

All of these options have continuous hinges and will fit the 14" x 14" measurement.
