Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long Item # C56001 is designed to fit if your 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 came with a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector. It plugs in line with the factory connectors and provides a second 7-Way connector you can mount in the truck bed (or anywhere that it will reach).
If your truck did not come with a factory installed 7-Way let me know what it does have and I can make some recommendations to add a 5th wheel/gooseneck harness.
