Recommended In Bed Connector For 2016 GMC Sierra 2500
Question:
I have a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD and saw the oval plugs in the bed sides. I was wanting to know if this plug kit without bracket would fit properly in those cutouts to provide a seamless installation for a fifth wheel hookup. I would prefer not to install one of the universal ones if I can avoid it.

The 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket - Vehicle End # HM40975 has not been confirmed to fit in the cutouts without the bracket, but you absolutely can make the similar cutout so it will work. The oval connector socket does work with a US Car adapter end, so it is compatible with the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 7' Long # C56070 or the Demco # DM8555002 for a 10 foot long adapter. This will give it a really nice and clean look.
