You will know if your current tires are bias or radial by what is printed on the sidewall. If there is a letter R it is radial if there is a letter D it is bias. I've attached an article to help further that covers the differences in construction and function.
If you want to replace the tires and wheels on your 5x8 trailer, I recommend you start with measuring the wheel and determining bolt pattern. If you want to keep your current wheel, then there will be tires available to fit. Radial tires don't often go under 12 inch wheel size.
If you want to get a combination wheel and tire, make sure the bolt pattern and wheel size match and then make sure the load capacity is a fit for your application.
Let me know if you'd like a recommendation based on your tire size.
