In order to choose a ball mount that will allow you to tow your trailer level, you will want to take two measurements.
First, on your tow vehicle, you will measure from the ground to the top of the trailer hitch receiver. Then on your trailer, you will measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. When taking these measurements, make sure both the vehicle and trailer are on level ground. You will then choose a ball mount that has a rise or drop measurement closest to the difference between these two heights.
For example, if the hitch height on your vehicle is two inches higher than the coupler height on the trailer, a ball mount with a 2 inch drop, such as the Curt Class III # C45036 will be perfect. This particular ball mount also includes a 2 inch hitch ball.
I have included an article on choosing a ball mount that you might also find helpful, along with a link that will take you to our available selection.
