Trailer Turn Signals are Reversed with Curt Wiring Harness Installed on a 2005 Dodge Dakota

had harness installed by my mechanic several months ago just went to use it only to find left/right are reversed. I checked install and colors all match. I guess I could reverse leads but ...

You mentioned colors matching but vehicle wiring colors and trailer wiring colors almost never have the same functions. On Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector Item # 55323 for the 2005 Dodge Dakota the connectors with the yellow wires goes to the driver's side and the green is the passenger's side.
If this is how you have it installed try switching them and if you have the same problem then the issue is likely a ground or short or combination of both. It can happen believe it or not. Make sure that the vehicle and trailer side connectors are clean and free of corrosion. On the trailer side make sure there are no pinched or damaged wires.
