Recommended Axle With Hubs For Compatibility With 8 Inch Wheels For Boat Trailer
Question:
Hi, I have an old boat trailer current weight/wheel is about 250 lbs. Wheels are 8-inch with 5 lugs on 4.5-inch bolt circle...would like the same. Current hub has 3.19 diam and the old 8-in wheel has a 3-3/16 bore. Hubs use 2 bearings LM 67048. Hub bore for races is about 2.315-inch. Cant seem to find a 8-inch wheel 5 on 4.5 with a 3.19 bore Spindle is straight, 1.25 diameter, Shaft seal shaft shoulder to tread length is 2.5-inch. Seal shaft shoulder diameter is 1.525+. Can you recommend a hub kit to match that shaft. Thanks

Unfortunately we don't have any hubs that fit your current spindles. I recommend replacing your axle and that will be determined based on the length of your axle and capacity needed.
For a galvanized steel option ideal for a boat trailer, I recommend the CE Smith Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 57-1/2" Long - 1,800 lbs # CE33201GA-HUB.
Another option is the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs - EZ-Lube - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 72" Long - 2,000 lbs # 20545I-EZ-72-15 or the Dexter Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 60" Long - 2,000 lbs # 20545I-ST-60-15. You will need to take into account the spring center to spring center length with these axles.
Along with any of these axles, I recommend the Kenda 5.70-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C # AM30150.
