Recommended Adapter For Greater Ground Clearance For Bike Rack On 2016 Honda Odyssey
Question:
I am interested in purchasing a hi low hitch adapter for my 2016 Honda Odyssey class III 2inch hitch hitch was installed after purchase. The problem is that the bottom of my tray bike rack scrapes the ground when going in reverse on an incline with the bikes loaded. The logical solution seems to be a hitch adapter to increase the rise but I dont know how much rise is needed, 6inch , 10inch etc. Do you have any advice? Thanks so much!

For your bike rack on your 2016 Honda Odyssey, I recommend the Curt Dual 2" Receiver Tube Adapter, 8" Extension # D-192. This is rated for up to 350 lbs tongue weight but will reduce your trailer hitch tongue weight by up to 50%. So in most cases for a Class III hitch that reduces your total to 250 lbs tongue weight with will be fine for a bike rack. This gives you the option to tow a small trailer as well.
High-Low adapters can be used for bike racks but they also reduce the hitch tongue weight capacity by 50%. For an 8 inch adapter I recommend the Roadmaster High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars - 2" Hitches - 8" Rise/Drop - 10K GTW, 400 lbs TW # RM-048-8. I've linked the page to all of your high low adapter options as there is no way for me to know what rise you need.
