Recommended Bias Tires For Boat Trailer To Match New Spare

Question:

I have a boat trailer with a new spare and it now has ST205/75D14 tires on it that have lasted 28 years bias and now all I see are radial tires with some kind of funky all season tread like well be hauling it in snow or some such nonsense. is everything gone to radial and what happens if I mix it up with my ribbed bias spare?

There are still some bias tire options available for your boat trailer with ST205/75D14 size spare. I recommend the Loadstar ST205/75D14 Bias Trailer Tire - Load Range C # AM1ST86. I've linked our other options for you as well.

Radial tires have become more and more of the norm not only because they can be used on trailers that will be hauled in various conditions, but also because many people spend the majority of their travel with their trailers on the highway. Bias tires are better for off road and industrial applications, where the radials are made to run cooler with better traction on highways. I recommend the Provider ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # TR20514 which has a load rating of 1,760 lbs at 50 psi with a speed rating of up to 81 mph if you choose to move to radials. I do recommend matching tires including spare for best results even though mixing radial and bias in an emergency would be acceptable. I don't recommend mixing radials and bias styles even in the same size for regular transport as you want the running temps and tread to be identical for best handling.
