Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2005 International Pilgrim

Question:

Hi, I have a 2005 international pilgrim travel trailer 31.5 feet and 8600 pounds. The interesting thing is the tongue weight of the camper says that it is 1105. I do a lot of beach camping so on the back of my truck I always have a generator gasoline cooler and Wood . What system would you recommend for my situation . Thank you

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

If the tongue weight you mentioned is the loaded tongue weight then the part # RP66084 would be what I would recommend as it has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs and features only sway control designed to fight sway before it starts. For your total trailer weight being 8,600 lbs I can't imagine the tongue weight being higher than 1,105 when loaded.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
