Troubleshooting 7-Way 12 Volt Power Circuit that Doesn't have Power on Ford Truck

Question:

I have a 2012 Ford F-350 power stoke. When hooked up to travel trailer the battery voltage goes down on travel trailer. I checked the 12 v power on 7 pin female plug on truck. Theres no voltage on the one oclock pin with truck running . Shouldnt it have power? All other pins have voltage for lights.

Yes, the 1:00 pin of a 7-way should have 12 volts on it so that it could charge the battery of a trailer.

You should check the fuses of your truck under the hood as well as any relays that state trailer battery. You most likely just blew a fuse.

Another option would be to bypass the vehicle wiring and run a wire directly to the vehicle battery. To do that you'd need 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) and a circuit breaker # 9510. You'd run the wire from the pin on your 7-way to the positive post of the battery through the breaker.
