To tow your 2012 Mini Clubman if it is a manual transmission, I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX1307 along with the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar - Motor Home Mount - 6,500 lbs # BX7380. This system comes with the safety cables needed. I also recommend using the Blue Ox Base-Plate and Receiver Lock Kit - Qty 4 # BX88177 to secure your connection and deter theft.

For your tow bar wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 which will allow you to charge your Clubman battery while towing and gives you the clean connection on the front of your vehicle with a nice coiled connection cable to run between vehicles. The diodes allow you to use the factory wiring of your Mini to give it a clean look.

For your braking system I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. This will apply the brakes in your Mini at the same time and with the same intensity as you hit the brakes in your van. It will allow you to simply adjust at installation than then becomes a completely plug and play system. This is a very reliable system that prevents false braking and is our installation team's favorite.

The last thing you will need is a high low adapter. I've linked a page to all of your options and attached an article to assist in determining the correct fit.

This will give you a complete system for your 2012 Mini Cooper Clubman.

If you have an automatic transmission, your owners manual on page 179 states that you will need to raise the front wheels off the ground or the transmission can be damaged. So, if you have an automatic transmission, I recommend using the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes # RM-2050-1.
