Expert Reply:
The trailer wiring connection for your vehicle should already be converted to negative ground, so the Vehicle to Vehicle Taillight Converter, item # 118158, should work just fine on your vehicle.
I would test the trailer wiring connection on the vehicle to be sure that it is converted properly before installation. Testing will need to be done with a multimeter, item # PT89ZR, if needed. Set the meter to test DC voltage and, with the tail lights on, connect the red wire to the tail light terminal on the vehicle connector and the black wire to the ground terminal on the vehicle connector. If you get a positive reading the trailer connector is negatively grounded. If you get a negative reading on the multimeter the trailer connector has not been properly wired and you will need to get the proper wiring for your vehicle.
If you would like to send me the year, make and model of your vehicle, I will be glad to to recommend a trailer wiring harness for you.
