Helpful Expert Reply:
I have the perfect supplemental braking system that will not require extensive wiring for installation on your 2013 Kia Soul. For this, I recommend using the Blue Ox Patriot part # BLU37TR as this option will provide you with both ease of use and ease of installation in addition be being portable.
The Blue Ox Patriot is a proportional braking system that operates off of a wireless radio frequency. The system only weighs about 15 lbs. which will assist with frequent removal. I also recommend using the 12 Volt Outlet Kit part # RM-9332 as this attaches directly to the vehicle's battery which will eliminate draining the battery while in use. For an easy way to disconnect the vehicle's battery, I recommend using the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle part # RM-766 if you do not already have one.
I have attached a review video on both of these products for you.
