Can 6,000 Pound Hydraulic Trailer Brake Assemblies be Used on a 5,200 Pound Axle

can the titan 6000 lb brake assembly T4489500 be used on Dexter 5200# axles? Why are the titan brake assemblys only 1/2 as expensive as the Dexter assembly?

The more pricey Demco Hydraulic Brake Assemblies, like # 42028, are designed for marine applications meaning it uses corrosion resistant materials to minimization or eliminate corrosion. The materials are more expensive which makes the assemblies cost more.

For non-marine trailer applications, the Titan Free-Backing Hydraulic Trailer Brake Assembly, # T4489600, and # T4489500, would work just fine. These assemblies are rated for use on up to 6,000 pound axles, so you could use them on 5,200 pound axles.
