Is Bumper Modification Required to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2011 Mercedes GLK 350  

Question:

Do you have to cut or change the bumper to fit the hitch? Do you have to reprogram anything for the electrical? Thanks

The rear bumper on your 2011 Mercedes GLK 350 should not have to be modified in order to install Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75698. However, you may need to bend or remove some tabs on the rear fascia to install the hitch properly. This is covered in the installation instructions I have linked for you to view.

For trailer wiring on higher end European vehicles such as your GLK, I recommend using the Mercedes part and having the dealer install it to avoid any potential problems they may come up with an aftermarket part.

If you plan on doing some towing, the recommended ball mount is # AMSC2 and you can use pin and clip # PC3. For a ball, you can use # 19260 (1-7/8 inch diameter), # 19247 (2 inch diameter), or # 63847 (2-5/16 inch diameter).
