Will 7K Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 8 on 6-1/2 AKHD-865-7-1-K Work with Dually Wheels
Question:
Hi, I have a trailer with 7000 lbs axles , The hubs have been welded on to install dual dayton style/ trailer house wheels , so I want to upgrade to 8 hole hubs and run dual wheels for stability as it will not always be on level roads. The wheels I have are from a mid 80s motor home , chevy chasiss. These have a plate that the lug nuts fit to , so I am assuming these are a piloted wheel to the hub. The studs are 9/16. Will your akhd-865-7-1-k hub accept dual wheels with center piloting . Thanks for the help

Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 7,000-lb Axles - 12" Diameter - 8 on 6-1/2 Item # AKHD-865-7-1-K will accept hub-centric or lug-centric wheels. There is also no restriction on use with dually wheels as long as everything is within the capacity of the lowest rated component in the system. I have linked a couple of videos on this hub and drum assembly for you.
If you also need brakes the drum accepts 12x2 inch assemblies such as # AKEBRK-7R-SA for the right and # AKEBRK-7L-SA for the left.
