Generator Recommendation for Powering to Air Conditioner Units on an RV
Question:
I have 2 questions. 1. I have a Curt Q20 and was wondering if they make standard width rails for it and I also need to know if they have any taller options to raise my trailer up? 2. I am looking for a generator for a 2016 Keystone Apine. I have 2 ACs so Im looking for one that would be adequate for cooling it while traveling for dogs... Any help would be appreciated.

Universal fifth wheel rail kits like the part # RP30035 use industry standard rail dimensions which means the Curt Q20 part # C16130 as well as most other fifth wheel hitches will fit it.
It is possible to lift the trailer. You can do this by moving the axles from being above the leaf springs to below the leaf springs.
The diameter of your trailer axle will determine the size of the parts that you will need to order. If your axle is 3 inches diameter, the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit, # K71-385-00, would be a great choice and if your axle is 2-3/8 inch diameter you could use the Over-Under Kit, # K71-384-00. These kits can be installed without welding but the manufacturer strongly recommends having the new spring seat tacked in place on the other side of the trailer axle.
Most RV AC units draw around 1,800 watts to start, so a 4,000 watt generator like the A-iPower # 289-AP5000 would work well.
