Will 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket HM40975 Fit a 1997 Ford F-150 Flareside w/Factory 7-Way

Question:

I have a 1997 ford f150 with the factory 7 pin plug and I need to plug in my trailer with the 4 pin plug. I hate the plug in 7 to 4 adapter that looks cheap and falls out, so I was thinking this would work. Can you confirm that this will work on my truck? I dont see why it wouldnt but need confirmation please. Thank you.

On the back of your factory 7-Way trailer connector on your 1997 Ford F-150 the wiring harness should plug into the back of it meaning it can be removed. If that is indeed the case with yours then you can install 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket - Vehicle End Item # HM40975 in its place. I have linked a video that shows installation for you.

I do not anticipate a problem because all of the replacement 7-Ways listed for your truck install in the same way.
