Hitch Recommendation for a 2011 Mustang GT Convertible Calif Special
Question:
Need hitch for my Mustang. Curt offers one but under Tech Tips they seem to exclude the California Special. Do you know what problem is? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
For your 2011 Ford Mustang GT Convertible California Special I would recommend you get a Draw-Tite Hitch, part # 24863. This hitch is designed to work on all models of Mustangs including your Convertible California Special.
The problem is in the rear fascia and exhaust, the California Special model uses a different rear fascia and exhaust that is not compatible with the Curt Hitch, part # C11061.

You may need the following to complete your towing setup:
A ball mount
Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118487 (instructions below)
Hitch Ball with 1-7/8 inch Diameter and Short Shank, part # 19256
Hitch Ball with 2 inch Diameter and Short Shank, part # 19258
