Best Trailer Tire Recommendation for Size ST175/80-13
Question:
I am considering ordering the kenda loadstar tire for my 2015 Amerilite 21 mb. The recommended tire is a 175 80d 13. Is it best to stick with the bias ply or switch to a radial? Also, if I do order this tire is it a new tire meaning it was manufactured recently and is in new condition? Thank you.

Expert Reply:
Radial tires are generally preferred over bias ply tires.
A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear.
A radial tire will normally run cooler than a bias ply tire, especially when the tire is under a load. A tire that runs cooler will last longer.
Best recommendation I can make would be the Lionshead tire part # LHWL101. This radial tire has a weight capacity of 1,360-lb max load at 50 psi, has a speed rating of 71 mph and has a 2 year roadside program.
If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
