Trailer Tire Recommendations for Size ST175/80R13

Question:

Hi, I currently have Ridgeway Sport ST 175/80 D13 origioonals installed on our dual axle 20 ft rv. GVWR=5390lbs. UVW=3684lbs. I have little over 4000 miles on them and will need to change them out very soon. Looking to upgrade what I currently have on them. Please recommend alternatives to what I have now. Thanks to Jameson C for suggesting the Westlake ST175/80R13 load range C. However, are there other options, like the Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D that would fit my current tires. I would like to get the best tires available for this trailer. Thank you.

If you need a Load Range D ST175/80R13 tire the Kenda part # AM10210 would be a great option. This tire has a weight capacity of 1,610 lbs at 65 psi. It also has a speed rating of 81 mph.

The part # LHWL101 has a capacity of 1,360 lb at 50 psi but has a speed rating of 71 mph. I'd go with this tire as long it would have enough capacity for your trailer.

Both of these are radials which are preferred over the bias ply size you had before.

A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear.

A radial tire will normally run cooler than a bias ply tire, especially when the tire is under a load. A tire that runs cooler will last longer.
