Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 3,179 Pound Flagstaff T12RB Folding Hardside Camper Trailer
Question:
I have a Flagstaff T12RB folding hardside camper that I need to tow with a 1995 Dodge Dakota V-8 as well as a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport. The trailer is 3179 GVWR and a 330lb Hitch Weight. Im leaning towards the weight dist. I am open to suggestion.

When choosing a weight distribution system, you will want one that has a tongue weight capacity range that encompasses the trailer tongue weight when it is loaded and ready to tow. Tongue weight should be between 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight. For a trailer weighing 3,179 pounds, that would make the tongue weight between 317 and 477 pounds.
Based on the estimated tongue weights above, I recommend a system rated for 200 to 600 pounds tongue weight like # RP66082.
The weight distribution system comes with the required shank so you would just need a properly sized ball like # 19286 (2-5/16 inch diameter) or # A-90 (2 inch diameter).
