Trailer Wiring Harness and Install on 2011 Toyota Highlander

My 2011 Higlander is pre-wired for a hitch, do I need additional wires for it?

Expert Reply:
If your Highlander does not already have the 4-pole trailer connector at the rear bumper, the T-1 Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118449 will be needed to provide brake, turn signal and running lights for a trailer.
Installation is very simple. The converter box will be plugged into the connector under the dash located between the emergency brake pedal and the brake pedal. The actual trailer connector is plugged into the connector located in the cargo area of the vehicle. The connector can be found under the cargo floor in the left hand side near the rear of the vehicle.
Finally, the fuse provided with the harness will need to be installed in the fuse box located under the hood. The install instructions show the exact location where the fuse is installed.
